You always need to start asking yourself "Why are you doing whatever you are doing?" this will give you a purpose, or a problem you want to solve. Going on to the how, planning how you're going to address the problem or complete the purpose. I don't know if it was the surprise at that moment of just the fascination I felt in that instant that made the experience stick to my mind. The amazing feeling of knowing that I had actually figured something out that was going to help me in the future on the first week of school let me reflect throughout the rest of the day.
